The Comox Valley Food Bank is seeking people with various backgrounds to serve as directors on its board of governance. We are a non-profit organization with a commitment to reduce hunger among the residents of urban and rural populations in the Comox Valley, from Oyster River in the north to Cook Creek in the south, including Hornby and Denman Islands.

COMOX VALLEY FOOD BANK BOARD DIRECTOR ROLE

Each director would be a progressive, community-minded team-player with a strong desire to give back by helping those who are food insecure.

In addition, those with skills in the following areas would be strongly considered:

  • previous experience serving on a non-profit governance board
  • community connections
  • business experience
  • good communicator and ability to do some basic research
  • financial management

Board members would attend one board meeting per month via Zoom, and would participate on at least one committee. Board members would review and create policy, develop the vision and goals through strategic planning. As per the Societies Act, the position of board member is strictly volunteer and does not involve remuneration.
